MLO 6: Research and Technology:
When looking at courses that offered the use of research and technology, we can refer to the way that research was introduced, and how successful research was within a class. Two classes that aided to this idea of research and technology can be present within WLC 300 (intro to capstone) and SPAN 301S (Service Learning). In both courses we can see how research and the use of technology was heavily present. In the course of WLC 300 we can count on the use of technology focusing on looking at the creation of our E-Portfolio which would become useful for the semester in which we graduate. In the course of Service learning we counted on looking nat numerous scenarios and social issues that are present in the chicanx/latinx community, one assignment that solely focused on this issue was the assignment on mistranslation and interpretation in which we focused on signs that were posted in our communities and finding if there was any discrepancies in the writing, looking for grammatical errors and perhaps language errors and looking at the effectiveness of the signs and perhaps the way these signs were accurately portraying something that was not to be mistaken or misinterpreted. The use of research was present as this was during the global COVID-19 pandemic and the signs had to be found online, as not many people were allowed outdoors or were not comfortable stepping out due to social distancing.
